Beth Heesung Park has an active
career as a performer and music educator in cello and strings. She studied
cello at CSU, Northridge, North Carolina School of the Arts, and the Sun Hwa
School of Performing Arts in Seoul, South Korea. Her cello teachers
included: Peter Rejto, Rowena Hammill, Robert Marsh and Martha Gerschefski.
She was chosen to perform the Elgar Cello Concerto for the Masterclass of the
British cellist Steven Isserlis in 1992. Ms. Park has performed with the
Los Angeles Concert Orchestra (Principal) and in the Young Musicians Foundation
Orchestra. She was a concerto competition finalist in 1991 at CSUN and she
has served as Principal cellist in the Atlanta Symphony Youth and in the Georgia
All State orchestras. She has also extensive chamber music experience,
i.e., Kadima String Quartet and other chamber ensembles in Los Angeles.
She is dedicated to music education and teaches privately in her studio in
addition to being the supervisor for the Beginning Instrument Program at Stephen
S. Wise Temple. She is also a cello and lower strings coach for the
Stephen S. Wise Youth Orchestra which draws form over 45 schools in Los Angeles.
